My little dog died yesterday. She was brave, I wasn't. She's been part of this blog since it started which made me want to record her end here, but I don't really want to say any more just now.
I write this with my cat sitting on my knees, and I know how I would feel if something happened to him. I am very sorry about your loss. Many hugs, Sarah.
I often visit your wonderful blog but have not posted before. Just wanted to say how very sorry I was to hear about Tally. The pain of losing a much-loved animal companion goes very deep indeed.
Thank you all so much, and for all the private emails. I had worried about putting this up because somehow it's rather un-English (!) and I was worried it would feel like a call for sympathy but I'm pleased I have done. And privileged to have heard so many stories about other people's pets. Tally was very special to us - a friend made me laugh when I said that she had been very well loved, and my friend said 'loved? She was worshipped, and that was just by me!!!!' She's had a little Hitchcock moment in all of my novels, and many of my stories, so far - and I'm sure she'll continue to star.
I am so sorry, it is dreadfully sad when a beloved animal dies. My darling cat died recently, so many tears. I'm so glad you posted it. Never posted before, but love the blog.
I'm sorry to hear that Tally has gone,Sarah. You surely did everything for Tally that you could, and she knew you loved her. That is what it always comes down to. Hugs from across the ocean.
