So this is where I'm off to next week. The Hurst is the former home of playwright,
John Osborne, who called the view down to the Clun Valley 'the best view in England’. Now, it's one of the four
Arvon centres in Britain, and we're going to spend the week looking at
short stories in particular. There is a full house of students so I'm guessing there won't be much time for admiring the view, but in the meantime I'm enjoying the perfect 'glimpses' in the
stories of my fellow tutor,
Jean McNeil. I'll be back in a week.
