I absolutely love this website I've just found which will allow you to enter the amount of time you want to write for, or wordcount and then monitor it on your behalf. With consequences (although not, I think, actual death!) if you don't make it. And a victory song if you do.

I agree! I found it just before NaNoWriMo this year and I loved it!
I like that there are varying degrees of consequences, and I love the triumphant little fanfare when you finish!
I used it to help me through my last week of NaNo when I had what seemed like an impossible word count ahead of me.
