Been rejected recently?

Here's one way to deal with it....

The author, Mary Patrick Kavanaugh's website is here - at the wonderfully named My Dream is Dead But I'm Not site.

My guess is that she's an ace marketeer. And my second guess is that she's now got a book deal. She's certainly creative, but does it make me want to read her book ...? Sadly not. But that's personal. I have a thing about reading about death, and there's enough of it around my life right now. What it does make me want is to read more about her though.

And my third guess is that I will. Soon.

Oh God! Hilarious, but I kept thinking...who are these people? Did she have to pay all these people to be there and sing and everything? How much did the church cost to rent? I think I may be in more trouble than Mary Patrick Kavanagh (or is it Sister Mary Patrick?) herself :-)

Hey Sarah, thanks for posting. Got a new agent out of the deal, but no book deal yet, because I'm still mulling over the proposal (what do I want to write??) Instead I'm planning another funeral AND a resurrection for public. I love that you posted the event. The singers are from my church -- talented group, and yes, paid an honorarium. Church was donated. Wonderful of you to acknowledge, totally understand about not wanting to read about death, humorous or not. I seem to be immune (even drawn to) the topic. Write on ;-). Mary Patrick Kavanaugh

Yep, a lot of fun and silliness here. Good to laugh at our troubles and our 'failures'. Not sure that we should blame the world for our lack of success... but the message I got from all those rejected authors is that we should not easily give up on our books... so I'd be for resurrecting that dream and getting back on that bucking horse.

If the work is good enough it will be accepted sometime. And that's no Secret. Believe it is true, because experience tells us it is true.

best wishes to MPK...

I know, Sue - and a good reminder it's fun to play. And Anon, good luck with your own book resurrection!
