Keeping the dream in mind...

So, to be honest the new allotment is a tad disappointing in how much work there is to be done...

Although I have plans to steal that digger at the end if it all gets too difficult...

And in the meantime I keep coming back up to this spot where I plan to have my writing shed so I can just look at the view and think it will all be worth it one day ...

I think that pink stuff is good -- if it looks like peas, it fixes nitrogen in the soil, or something.

Oh how wonderful, a writing shed on the allotment! OK, so there is work to be done, but I can imagine how heavenly it will be. I want a shed!

Sigh. Look at that view. I'd spend every moment gaxzing out of the window. You'll have to turn the desk to look at the wall!

What a lovely spot. My allotment was a small meadow with 3 foot high weeds when I took it on. Parts of it would still like to revert back to that state when I'm not looking. But it's worth every ounce of effort you put in. When you start picking or pulling up crops you will be thrilled. Happy digging.

The writing shed...yes, yes, yes -- now there's an idea with legs!

If there's one thing I've learned since we moved to our new house with all the vegetable plots, it's that there is a very close alliance between creativity and growing things. It happens slowly at first and suddenly the scenery changes, thickening the plot with activity and life. Don't worry about the weeds. They're probably easier to pull out when they're bigger, anyway.

I often go to garden centres to chose my fantasy shed. All sorts of questions are popping into my head about insulation, glazing, heating and electrics. Before I know it, I've talked myself back into the house!

Thanks all, and when I have a shed - finally - you are all invited. We will eat fresh vegetables from the allotment and drink pimms and home-made elderflower cordial. Perfect. Now, that's another dream I can keep in mind.

You'll be needing a lot of black sheeting.
