DELIGHTED to see Sarah Bakewell's Montaigne 'biography' on your pile Sarah. You'll love this. Definitely one of my reading highlights of the year thus far.

Bakewell makes you fall in love with the man so profoundly that you shouldn't be surprised when you rush out and pick up a copy of M's collected essays soon after reading this book (I did and it was the tome-like Everymans Library edition :))

Enjoy!

Yesterday I was looking at the work of Lasse Antonsen and there was something that reminded of the book Ship Fever by Andrea Barrett. It's been a long time, since I read that book, this morning I went again to my bookshelf to find the book. .....summer reading
