Wrapping up warm...

Baby, it's cold outside... but using this photo of the window of a glove shop from my recent trip to Venice as my screensaver is keeping me warm...

As well as the gloves one of my companions, and quite possible the best shopper ever, encouraged me to buy. He was right. I did need them and they are proving ENTIRELY useful, as well as very very beautiful...

And writing prompt 18-2007: No, no, not a luxury at all.

Recently in my class we talked re the loneliness of single objects, how vulnerable they look, things just lying around, people's personal stuff etc.. I found a wonderful poem ( about gloves) by Freda Downie. It describes the vulnerability of a pr of lost gloves glimpsed lying left in someone's hall. It's called, yes, HA! :" Gloves" ( " a small complex sculpture in the hall.....the gloves fingers stay curled. THey do not lose their grip...")
Love your photo. I have leather gloves in green ( I look like Kermit) and rose-red and I love them. THey jollify what I wear without effort.I would almost postpone summer to keep wearing my jolly gloves.

I love the gloves photo. I'm trying to imagine the people who are attached to them!

Oooo Jan, lovely idea - the halves of things. And nice gloves too. And Patricia, that made me laugh. There were lots of women crouching down, of course, behind the shop window, waving their hands in the air. If you look closely, you can see them...
