Reflection - a 50 word story
Carly was horrified when the camera first went up. She’d hurry past, pulling up her collar and looking away. But then, she started dressing more carefully. Sometimes she’d even wave. She couldn’t stop wondering who was watching her. If he thought about her as often as she dreamt of him.

As technology advanced she'd been able to put security cameras outside. Next, came blogging and updating her status around the clock. One day, she became so transparent that only a feint outline distinguished her from the surrounding air. The cameras weren't needed any more because no one bothered to visit.
Kathryn, am slightly worried you're writing about me here! Great piece.
Thank you Sarah and don't worry, I'm far too selfish to think about anyone but me when I'm writing!
There are eyes on street corners. In all the light places and the dark. Where Emile is. Watching his every small movement, each breath in and breath out. Cannot sneeze without it is seen and documented somewhere. He falls and does not get up. It is seen, but no-one comes.
Tape unchanged for weeks, since the security guard's heart was punctured. Recovering in a bed of red rosed satin sheets.
He had first watched her from the window. Now the drapes were drawn. She had looked up, been disappointed. Then seen the camera.A sudden pulse quickened somewhere. He had not given up.Just wanted a closer view. She felt herself being drawn into his room already.
Oo Douglas, there's something nicely distant and report-like in that which makes the end quite horrible.
Littlem, love that one, so many ways the story is going in my mind. I'm thinking a wayward security guard being smothered by his claustrophic partner until he 'gets over it'!!!!
And nice, Abha. Voyeurism is a powerful topic for stories - personally I'm terrified of the idea of someone watching me sleep and I notice it comes up for my characters too! Love the idea of being drawn into his room because he's watching her - it's a physical thng.
