Eh?

"We have read your manuscript with boundless delight. If we were to publish your paper, it would be impossible for us to publish any work of a lower standard. And as it is unthinkable that in the next thousand years we shall see its equal we are to our regret compelled to return your divine composition and beg you a thousand times to overlook our short sight and timidity."

A Chinese rejection slip (not mine, I hasten to add)

I NEVER get tired of reading that. It's wonderful!

My friend Ros Barber had the best ever idea for rejection slips. Keep them, get them laminated, then cut them into coaster-size squares and use them to place the champagne glasses on at the launch of your first (fabulous) book.

Revenge being a dish best served cold and all that....

Ros Barber has style. Perhaps we should do our own rejection dinner, or we could just have the champagne?
And Nik, I know. Makes it worth being rejected, doesn't it? Almost anyway...

Rejection dinner - fab idea. No sour grapes to be served....just lots of champagne and choccy to keep our spirits up.

Maybe big dishes of those sweets too. And everyone has to wear a tiara (especially the blokes).
